Welcome to Mt Garnet State School website. If you are new to the school community, we extend a warm welcome and look forward to a long and happy association with your family.
Our small school thrives on a mutual goal between parents, staff and students of providing the best educational opportunities we can, focussing on the social, emotional and academic growth of each individual. Research has shown that the best way to do this is as a partnership, a team. I invite you to become an active partner of our school community and support your child’s learning. There are many way to become involved.
Our staff are an enthusiastic, skilled and committed team. We have an ‘open-door’ policy and encourage parents and caregivers to come and be a part of the quality teaching and learning occurring in the classrooms. We always welcome opportunities to discuss your child’s learning journey.
Mt Garnet is a small semi-rural township situated 48kms west of Ravenshoe. Many students live in outlying ‘villages’ and take advantage of the bus service. We currently have an enrolment of 92 students.
